Create Retro PSX Games
In Your Browser
Design levels visually, place sprites, set up physics and collisions — PSXForge compiles your game into a PSX binary you can test in emulators. Real hardware & 3D support planned.
Everything You Need
A complete game creation toolkit for the original PlayStation
Visual Scene Editor
Drag-and-drop level design with tilemap painting, sprite placement, and real-time preview. No coding required.
One-Click Build
Click Build and get a playable .bin/.cue in under 3 minutes. Our servers handle MIPS cross-compilation for you.
Emulator Ready
Your game compiles into a .bin/.cue image tested on HLE emulators. Real hardware and retro handheld support is in progress.
Physics & Collision
Built-in gravity, rigid bodies, AABB collision detection, tilemap collision layers, and one-way platforms.
Sound & Music
SPU sample playback, CD audio tracks, and XA streaming. Import WAV or MP3 — we convert to PSX formats.

Frame-based animation system with clips, looping, speed control, and automatic sprite sheet handling.
3D Polygon Objects
Place and transform 3D meshes, set vertex colors, and use PSX-style affine texture mapping. Currently in development.
Real Hardware
Run your game on actual PSX consoles and retro handhelds. Currently tested on HLE emulators, hardware support is in progress.
Build With 2D Sprites & Tilemaps
Upload your own art or use built-in assets to create game worlds
Rich Game Objects
Signs, doors, save points, enemies — place pre-made game elements or create your own
Authentic retro feel — targeting PSX architecture with CD audio and SPU sound. 3D polygon objects and real hardware support are on the roadmap.
How It Works
Three steps from idea to a PSX game running in an emulator
Design
Use the visual editor to create scenes, place game objects, paint tilemaps, and configure physics. Upload your own sprites and sounds.
Build
Hit the Build button. PSXForge generates C++ code, cross-compiles for MIPS, converts assets to PSX formats, and creates a CD image.
Play
Download your .bin/.cue files and test in a PSX emulator. Real hardware support and retro handhelds are coming soon.
